Gender-affirming care for transgender people protected under new Philadelphia order
Mayor Jim Kenney of Philadelphia has made the city a safe place for trans folks to seek medical care: “We won’t help those who seek to discriminate against trans people.”
New: Education
Gender Recognition and Lived Name policy allows for self-identification of name and gender
All University of California students, faculty, and affiliates can self-identify their gender identities and lived names on university-issued identification as of Oct. 8.
Vermont school unanimously approves new policy on transgender and nonbinary students
The new policy adjusts language from the word "should" to the phrase "will be" in the guidelines, especially in regard to sports and activities. For example, all students "will" be referred to by their preferred names and pronouns, and preferences will also be used on all school documents.
A Drag School Is Coming to San Francisco
The Stud Collective, one of the oldest LGBTQ+ clubs and drag performance spaces in the U.S., is officially founding a new school in San Francisco that will teach the history and fundamentals of performing drag. Drag queens, drag kings, and nonbinary artists 21 and older are all welcome
